I. OVERVIEW:

  1. Bring disk to Offline in Windows OS.

  2. Confirm that disk’s status = offline in Windows OS and provide disk information to support team (they will support on infrastructure side - optional).

  3. Validate again on Windows OS.

II. PROCEDURE Bring disk to Offline in Windows OS.

  1. Logon Windows and open Disk Management.

Right click on Windows menu > Run


Type: diskmgmt.msc > OK

  1. On Disk Management:

Right-click the disk name > Offline

  1. Validate disk status:

Disk status = Offline and it will disappear on volume table.

III. Confirm that disk’s status = offline in Windows OS and provide disk information to support team (they will support on infrastructure side).

Please provide disk information:

Disk name:

Disk size:

Disk ID (follow as below):

*** Check Disk ID via Disk Management:

Right-click the disk name > Properties

IV. Validate again in Windows OS:

Once the support team has completed on the infrastructure side.

Please log on to Windows OS and confirm that the disk has been removed. No disk offline status show on Disk Management.
